About traditional Taekwon-Do

Taekwon-Do is movement for the body and mind. Tae means foot, Kwon means fist and Do means the path of physical and mental development that a person takes when engaged in this Korean martial art.

Hyong

Hyongs are sequences of movements in which the practitioner fights against imaginary opponents using techniques set in a specific order.

Hosinsul

In partner exercises, the techniques learned are performed freely or with fixed movements, at first in one or two-step combat (Ilbo Taeryon and Ibo Taeryon) and later in free combat (Chayu Taeryon).

Taeryon

The free fight is a direct confrontation with an opponent and is fought without contact. All techniques must be stopped in time in front of the partner without injuring them.

Kyek-Pa

Breaking tests are used in competitions and exams to demonstrate effective mastery of techniques. They usually consist of breaking a board with a hand or leg technique. The board can only be broken with a precisely executed punch or kick.
